EASTER!
Like the cool and fun loving person I am, I invited Ryan and Trent to my family's Easter. What started off as a small family dinner, turned into something much more!
I had originally agreed to go to church with them on April 16, Easter morning, but the events from the previous night prevented me from doing so. Jeremy and I cleaned the house and was prepping the food for dinner, when we got a call from his dad. We ran over to his dads, and as we were leaving we discovered something gruesome.
Jeremy's dad has an old metal milk jug on his front porch. Many kittens where born in this jug, one of them being my own Tyrion Lannispurr. We were able to capture this cutie, but none of his siblings or his mother. I was trying to catch at least the females to spay them to stop all this kitten madness, but catching feral cats is super hard. So we settled for this guy, and we got him fixed and all his shots. He's now fat and happy, an accidental rescued cat. He's spoiled.
Back to my discovery. I was looking in the milk jug for the newest hatching of kittens, noticing there were two. Now, I was told there were at least 5, so I called my husband over. The one wasn't moving, so Jeremy picked the one on top, only for us to discover the other one was missing half of its body. We decided to take the last living one home, and take it to the shelter when it opened. Tyrion's mom isn't known for her protective qualities.
We called it Cathlulu and it (being so tiny that we have no idea if it was male or female) needed to be bottle fed, so I was up every two hours feeding it. I hated to miss church but I wasn't going to let this little thing die. I have a friend who runs a rescue in Pawley's Island and she was able to pick the kitten up and get it in a foster home.
We waited on the guys to get out of church and then we made the journey to Tarnation (also known as Sampit) to my cousin Brandi's house for Easter fun! My entire family was well behaved (because anyone who knows us knows that we can be crazy sometimes!) and dinner and egg hunts went so smoothly!
I was so glad to have my family meet them without incident, at first because they were my friends. Now, it's because these guys are my family too!
